These paintings are created in multiple layers, then sanded, and stained. Formal training started in my youth, and with each new project, I seek to expand and improve my skills. In 1986, I received a BS degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in Graphic Design and Illustration. Upon graduation I moved to San Jose and was an in-house package designer. My illustrated boxes and bags shipped to Japan. After moving back to San Diego I changed pace and designed logos and collateral projects for a variety of businesses. Additionally, for 7 years I taught graphic design at the Art Institute of CA, formerly known as The Advertising Arts College. Now I have the privilege of being a stay at home mom, and going back to my roots of painting. When not painting, in my free time, I enjoy flying various single engine aircraft. A goal is to be the painting pilot. "Will paint for flight time!" I live happily with my family in the hills of La Mesa. Please feel free to browse my website.
